Unlike some plague columns in Europe that are dirty looking, dark and rather dull, this one is really bright, has great statues on it, a really lovely top and it is well worth stopping for a photograph. You can’t miss it...when walking on either side...More

Immaculata is one of those monuments and lanndmarks, those dont attract tourist on their own, unlike the nearby St. Elizabeth's Cathedral or the National Theatre. But by being located in the heart of the city, it is priceless as it co-creates an atmosphere of the...More

The statue is located in a market in the old town of Kosice and dates back to the middle ages, being dedicated to the end of the plague in the town. It is a must see if you visit the old town of Kosice.

The statue adds to the charm and Olde-world atmosphere of the main tourist street in Košice. Lovely restaurants surround the area. Go at night so that you can see the dancing fountains light up at dark.

Walking down the main street of Kosice it's hard to miss this baroque plague column which was built in memory of an epidemic which has struck Košice in 18th century. Ask Frank H about Immaculata

Whilst on one of my walks in the city centre, I came across this wonderful sculpture, just outside the Cathedral. It is well executed and a wonderfull sculpture, which is free for all to enjoy.

plague statues are more or less the same everywhere. This column does have an interesting twist on it, comparing to others.

Small but beautiful is how to describe the work of art. It sits in the middle of town on the Main Street so not easy to miss if you, like us were wandering up and down. Walk around it slowly to appreciate the incredible detail...More
