This building is the home of the national radio and television corporation. It's a very distinctive looking building, looking a little like an upside down pyramid. It's also a typical example of Brutalist architecture with the skeleton of the building showing prominently on the exterior of the building. I think the building is ugly, but then I'm not a fan of this style and it was a stop on a walking tour.

The Slovak Radio station is an unusual structure in the north of the city, it is the shape of an inverted pyramid and was completed in 1983. It is an imposing building and is 80 metres high, it was hailed as being one of the top 30 ugliest buildings in the world which was disputed by Slovak architects. The building is strangely appealing and one of the hightlights in the area, however where it is situated has become neglected and had become run down.

Around the corner from the Námestie Slobody can be found the Slovak Radio Building.
It's 5 - 10 minute stroll from the President's Palace and train station and well worth a detour.
It has been included in a list of the 30 ugliest buildings in the world. The list was compiled by idiots. I think it's brilliant.

Really interesting design and close to other sights so worth walking to it and taking them all in. From the old town you'll pass several other "must sees"

I didn't go inside, just walked by. But it's an interesting building to look at, I think. If you're in Bratislava, just stop by!

Visited as part of the Discover Bratislava Free Walking Tour. Can appear ugly but apparently the acoustics are amazing! Pretty souless inside!

No doubt ahead of its time, in its time - but upside down buildings now seem common place around the world. That said, still not sure I'd want a window desk in this place.

It's just a building.. Had a look on city tour - appears to be a relic from the 60's, north game spectacular

It's not far away from the old city center and worth seeing. Really interesting architecture, I would appreciate more information about the building.

This building, designated by the world as one of the thirty most ugliest buildings on the planet is actually quite delightful. First mooted in 1967 and finally completed in 1983 this former Soviet Union inspired building really is excellent when you consider it is an inverted pyramid. Many will point to the relatively blandness of the exterior but take a while and understand exactly what has been achieved here. It is remarkable. The fact is has been developed with a bland finish and pretty shoddy and boring surroundings is more testament to the times rather than what the basic style actually is. On entering they also have a sort of museum for radio equipment and broadcasting in a large reception type area. Alas photography wasn't allowed but some of the older style radio apparatus on display is wonderful. This is not far from the old town and only about ten minutes walk north and I would suggest if you pop to see the Grasselkovich Palace, which many will, then this is only five minutes further. It really is worth seeing.
