Staff were extremely friendly and capable of speaking other languages(unlike many Slovakians it seems). Visitors are given a free cup of coffee with their ticket. If, like me, you loathe modern art, you will still like the lovely landscape paintings on the top floor by a c.1880-era painter.

A gorgeous building outside and most importantly inside (where it looks like Guggenheim's) houses a selection of Slovak art history that is a must-see when it comes to art lovers. I've visited prior to my art history finals and it helped me a lot, there's signs with English translations as well and the staff is always helpful.

Visited this museum in November 2016- the entrance fee was minimal and the staff were really friendly. There are 5 floors of modern art- and a really diverse selection of art works to look at- following different era's and movements. You get a free coffee with the entrance fee, which was delicious, the cafe is small but lovely. Took just over... More

An old building has been converted in a modern and original way. Each floor features a different period of 20th/21st century Slovak art. The coffee shop is a pleasant space for a mid visit break. A drink seems to be provided free if you pay full price to enter.

Different Slovak artists on 5 floors but there could be more information in English about the artworks. It is located in the very center, the architecture inside is interesting.
