Definitely worth the visit...curious pathways lead you through a variety of Slovak culture. We spent a few hours viewing the interesting displays. Took some fun pictures with life-size animal replicas of a giraffe and mastodon. Wall of skulls, architecture floor, and historical weapons were just a few highlights. Great for families of all ages but lots of stairs should be... More

The archaeology finds in the region are found here, some extremely ancient, many from the Roman period, some from the medieval period. There are coins, pots, weapons and jewellery, all thoughtfully and clearly displayed with good commentary. There are also temporary exhibits; the current one on WWI was particularly good. This is part of the castle but worth a visit... More

We spent about an hour to tour 3 floors of this museum. Most of it was animals, birds, shells, etc. displayed in the style of the 1950s or 60s, large glass display cases with difficult to read labels. There were English translations of many things but much was in Slovak, as you might expect. The museum was interesting but displayed... More

Standard tour take around 3 hours. Standing exposition is oriented to Slovak nature from prehistoric to existing times and for evolution process. Very interesting are short-term exposition, focused on actual open themes in Slovakia (not related with Nature, f.e.: posters from Slovakia around 1930, biography and work of Bedrich Hrozny,...) It is fine museum and it is for half a... More

Beautiful art exhibit of Slovak painter Ivan Pavle. http://www.ivanpavle.sk/omne_en.html Well worth visiting. Love the historic feel of this building - and the very traditional and somewhat "old-fashioned" museum staff seated in each of the rooms. I asked one of them which painting she preferred "najlepsie" or "favourite"? She pointed to one with fish and a fish net. Staff are part... More

The location of this place is very good, it is very close to the new shopping area Eurovea- it is a nice easy stroll alongside the river. There is not a single advert for the museum in the shopping area! The building it quite interesting, but the staff!! This place takes you back to the communist era! There is some... More

Museum is bit old fashioned but always with some interesting exhibitions. During the summer season the air-condition is really missing. We visited it with a 6 years old daughter who became scared of mammoth who suddenly appeared from behind the corner or by perfectly lightened pre-historic predator. So its challenging! Generally, there are several expositions, we visited that on the... More
