This monument is a little bit out of the city centre, but well worth the effort to go to. Great city views and very well kept soviet cemetry.

An interesting monument. The view from here would have been amazing if we hadn't visited on a day when there was freezing fog but nevertheless it was still a great walk out. It took roughly 25mins to walk here from the old town.

We visited Slavin on a recommendation from someone on our guided tour. We decided to walk up, it took us about 20 minutes from the centre of town, it was quite steep in parts. It's a beautiful spot, even in the midst of winter. There were a few visitors but it felt quiet and respectful with beautiful views of the... More

This monument built to comemorat the soldiers who have fought for the freedom of Slovakia in world war 2. Make sure to come about 30 minutes before sundown to be able to enjoy the wonderful view of the city with beautiful colors. An Uber from the centre costs only 3€! Totally worth it.

A fascinating historic monument. I need to do more research on it's history. The scenery is beautiful. It's also a nice park for walks.

its a bit of an up hill walk to get here, and I'd I did take a couple of wrong turns, but well worth it Its an impressive memorial with spectacular views over the city. Its one of those places that hits you and you have to pause for a few minutes for reflection.

The Slavin memorial is a tribute to the nearly 7,000 Soviet soldiers who died to liberate Slovakia from the Nazis. It is really quiet at the top and after a bit of a walk it was quite peaceful to stop and just take a moment to reflect and walk around. The views over the city are beautiful and we were... More

When we talk about World War 2 heroics and sacrifices we always talk about American or British soldiers. Hollywood movies are mainly scripted or motivated by characters from the US or the UK. Hence, very little is know about the contribution of the Soviet Red Army during the war. The Slavin war memorial in Bratislava just does that - Reminds... More
