Pretty easy access by a car or moderate hike from the Visegrad city. Awesome view towards the Danube river and Pilis mountains. You can walk the castle on your own. I would say that it's all about the view as there is not that much...More

accessible by car (warning: looked like they had a wait for the parking if you got there too late) great views, beautiful citadel, you can walk around on your own, interesting exhibits, absolutely worth a visit

Obviously it is a must visit location in Visegrád and it is well worth the hiking. The view is amazing, I felt that I could stay up there the whole day just staring at the Danube and the hills. The history of the citadel is...More

The view is wonderful. However the ticket to "museum' is overpriced, there are some small rooms with hardly anything to see. When wanting to enter the wax "museum" we were told to come back later because a larger group is inside. We had very little...More

It's more the surondings and the road which make the place. The castle is not the most formidable, but its location towering over the Danube Bend is gorgeous.

The weather was good and it was beautiful landscape from the castle to the Danube and the mountains. The prices are reasonable. Parking is an issue when the parking lot iss full. You have to take a long walk, not highly recommended in bad weather,...More

I absolutely loved it- the view, the museum, the walk. It is totally worth seeing! There's a little fee you pay for the ticket, but believe me it's worth every penny. I was there on a sunny day - the views were just unbelievable!

Pros: Scenic views of the Danube Bend, a nice hike up the hill, a walk into history Cons: Not much castle left, limited historical information I really love history, so I missed seeing nice exhibits about the story of this castle. They did have some...More

I give it an average rating as it was nothing spectacular. It is worth going to as there are some great views. If you are in the area, go, but don't go out of your way to go here.

I visited during February when the attraction is closed, you can still walk to the castle and admire the fantastic views, I would love to visit when it is open in the summer.

Are Royal Palace and Citadel different ? I saw entrance tkt to Palace is 1100 HUF and to Citadel 1400 HUF. Is tkt to Citadel for climbing the tower or just for entry ? Also, what is price of mini bus ticket to g up the hill to the Palace/Citadel ? One visitor said it is 2500 HUF ?
