The road trains in Hungary are usually a good way to get your bearings before exploring on foot. This one is no different. It's perfectly adequate but that's about it. No better or worse than any of the others we visited.
Take the train, it's cheap, it's convenient and it's fun.
Don't be tempted to save yourself some money and walk, you'll be exhausted it'll take you for ever and it's not worth it.

We thought this was a great way to visit the monastery, but on asking the driver for hop 0n-hop off tickets as advertised he didn't know what we were talking about so just did the single ticket.
