The Great Church sits in the center of downtown Debrecen and towers over the city. It is both beautiful and historical. Anyone who visits Debrecen will see and experience the Great Church.

If you come to Debrecen, this is just simply the must see. It's not huge or gorgeous but it has its own specialty and characteristics of Debrecen

While walking in Debrecen you will see the Reformed Great Church from many corne and it give you direction to the city center. This church is one of the most significant Classicist historic buildings of Debrecen, and was designed by Mihály Péchy, The church was built between 1805 and 1822. If you have to be around and finished visiting the... More

At Debrecen's city center, very easy to find. The museum holds about 25 maquettes and 56 paintings showing various scenes in the bible. You can climb and see former ruins of the building and also go to the very top where you can see the city from there. Dont remember how much i paid, but t was quite cheap. Its... More

You can't miss this if you visit the city Centre. Conveniently located at one of the tram stop and a beauty in the pictures. You just can't help but stop and grab some pictures. I heard its interior design is pretty plain inside but did not had the time to verify that this trip...

If you haven't been in a protestant church you should see this one. It totally doesn't look like a tipical church - it's almost empty inside. It's huge but has no ornaments, no ikons, no cross. Entrance: 500 ft.

The Great Church in Debrecen is a unique building with two towers and a tympanon on the front side between the towers

My graduation ceremony was held in this beautiful building a couple of years ago. Since I'm living in abroad I'm talking about my home town a lot to everyone. If you are in the city center of Debrecen, the first thing what you need to check is definitely the Great Church, in every season there's something what you can watch,... More

Very beautiful cathedral dominiating the central square. Very plain and sober inside in typical Calvinist style. There was a choir gloriously singing during my visit. Climbing the tower is worth it.
