This is a great basic chairlift. It is so quiet and peaceful travelling up to the top. The trip back down is also quiet and then you have the added bonus of the views across Budapest. At the top there is opportunities for some walks...More
I loved the Libego in Hungary. You can easily take a tram and a bus from Szell Kalman Ter (about 20-25 min overall time) and get right to the entrance of this chairlift. It takes you uphill first, then downhill (best view) and is one...More
We took the chairlift back down after a round trip involving the cogwheel railway/Children's railway and Elizabeth lookout tower. I recommend doing the chairlift up and then walking down to the railway if you struggle with hills! My poor parents (in their 70's) round the...More

This is a really wonderful way to enjoy the day. The roundtrip chairlift fare for myself and my daughter was around $13 USD and so worth it. This is just an old fashioned chairlift that takes you up the side of a hill that overlooks...More

This is a great activity to do when in Budapest. The views of Buda are lovely and it’s very relaxing. Going up and down is very reasonable as it’s quite a hike up, but on my last trip I went up via the children’s railway...More

By law you shouldn't pay more than 280 forint/km.. use Taxify app.. you'll know your exact fare ahead of time, you can use your credit card safely, you know the the driver's name and his car's number, you'll get an email with a receipt.. they can't screw with you.. street cabs will rip you off.. they will either use fake meters or not use one at all or drive you around in circles.. then ask you to pay triple the price.. also always watch for the change the driver gives you.. a lot of times they give you Indonesian rupee.. they look similar to Hungarian forint.. a widely used scam in Hungary.
