We had determined to go here when we visited Budapest in 2014 but illness prevented that. This time we went as our first visit and were not disappointed. A most beautiful building lovingly and expertly restored. There were so many pretty and attractive features we did not know where to look. The guide was excellent. Go!

Gorgeous builing, located in the square with the same name, and adjacent to the famous Korzo. One of the best pieces of architecture in the whole of Budapest.

The 'Gala' Concert in the Pesti Vigado Concert venue by t he Danube in Pest was superb! This is the most beautiful Hall - exactly what you would expect from the historic Austro-Hungarian Empire with its magnificent staircases, murals, statues etc. The Gala Concert with the classical orchestra, singers, dancers, gipsy performers and so on gave us 2 hours of... Beautiful building and interiors. Concert was fantastic, it had a bit of everything (orchestra, dance, opera). The female opera singer was a real beautiful diva, with a powerful voice.

Vigado Concert hall is close to the Danube. It is most impressive from outside and more so from inside. The entrance hall, the staircase.... it is magnificent and well worth a visit.

The Vigado is one of the many beautiful classical buildings in Budapest. It was built in 1869, replacing an earlier structure that burned down during the 1848 war of independence, victim of Austrian artillery. It is the second largest concert hall in Budapest and is the place where the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble performs. Of course, many other concerts are... More

We attended a classical music concert in the Vigado Concert Hall. The setting with a nice garden park between the building and the Danube is very nice and easy to get to. The building is beautiful and it was lovely to see a concert in such surroundings.

The Vigado (translates as place of fun) is a unique, wonderfully reconstructed venue at the Danube bank, with the wonderful view of Budapest's unique UNESCO panorama. Let me also send big kiss to Kate, who passionately loves to read my reviews :*.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
