Went on a tour and, fortunately, the guide spoke English. She was knowledgeable and friendly and very interested in the cave. A tad difficuly to locate, this attraction is worth visiting and exploring. Great for kids, natural history buffs and anyone with an interest in caves. Not strenous.

The tour took us about 30 minutes and the guide told the story of the cave in both Hungarian and English. There are several caves in the Budapest area, but we settled with this one. It is a "young" cave where the thermal water has dug its way through the limestone, creating popcorn-like formations. The air in the cave is... More

Went here with my cousins as the concierge at our hotel suggested it as a shorter option to the 3hr caving adventures we had read about. Honestly I feel like we should have just done the 3hr more adventure style activity. We are between 26-34yrs of age and were a bit bored, the guide didn't speak very clear english (definitely... hidden away, but easy and close enough to get to from the city centre. only a few hundred metres of cave is accessible. not a huge amount to see, I was expecting a little more. the guide tried very hard to show the interesting details - but there just weren't enough interesting items to show. price of entrance was 1600... There was no other language option and the guidings lasted very long. It wasn't possible to tour without the group, so we went most of the time waiting. The cave itself was nice, but otherwise the visit was just boring.

The caves are a hidden treasure underneath the city. The rock formations created by water are a spectacular view. We went only to the Szemlő-hegyi cave though. It is very easy to access (go down into) the Szemlő-hegyi cave, and it is child friendly. No climbing. The paths are lighted. It is somewhat cold down there, but we went there... More

I do not know why, but mot many guides tell a word about the caves under Budapest. This is one of them. Quite far from touristic routs it is really worth visiting. 40 min underground visit opens you magic of underworld. Popcorn stones… Have you ever heard about such formations? Or seen? Here you have a chance! You will be... More

The caves are out of the city centre but it is reachable by bus. Tours are every hour so make sure you try to get there on the hour (departs 15mins past). It isn't a strenuous tour so it's suitable for most people and kids, it gets a bit chilly down in the caves so I would make sure you... More

We were lucky enough to be with only one other couple on our tour and it was great; Katie was an excellent guide. It is easy to get round and absolutely fascinating to see. Personally I feel it was a better experience than the nearby palvolgyi caves, but that's just my opinion.

This is one of the best experiences we had after turkey bath. It is not touristic at all. Very beautiful and purest weather inside these caves. The guide is quite knowledgeable and gives lots of interesting info about cave. Tour is hourly once so plan accordingly. There is a bus which goes on top of hill and stop nearby cave... More
