Being impressed with the commemorative work outside the synagogue by this artist, I went to see this museum. When I arrived, I was the only first so the two people waiting for visitors turned on the lights for me. The museum itself is small, with...More

We have been visiting Budapest for close to 20 years and always find something new to see. This is our latest discovery -- a museum of works by one of Hungary's greatest living artists (Varga Imre is 95 years old and still working). The art...More

I remembered seeing this group of women with their umbrellas standing (as if they were real) in the rain in the Fo-ter of Obuda (Budapest) near the famous Sipos fish restaurant. Then someone told me that the sculptor's house, now a museum, is within a...More

If you like sculptures, visit the Varga Museum. It is small, but jammed with pieces and you will receive a personal tour of the grounds. Inexpensive, interesting and intelligent.

This little museum is easy to get to and is just the right size to appreciate the talent of Imre Varga. About 3 rooms and a sweet garden with many of his statues or the casts of them. There are some photos showing some of...More
