We ended up there since the art museum was closed under renovation. It is all about agriculture, horse and hunting. Except racing horse, the topics are more for mid school students.

Lots of information about animals and farms. Great place to visit in a wonderful building. Lots of displays with bears, horses and lots birds. The explains the development of agriculture with interesting details.

it has really large and interesting display. it is not only agriculture but also Hungarian history, and the building is beautiful. If there is an option for a guided tour i would take it. go if you like to see antiques

I would think so.not a lot closed in Budapest over xmas.maybe closed xmas.day but would imagine you'll be ok Xmas Eve/boxing Day.well worth a visit for the architecture alone.enjoy
