My wife and I spend several months in Budapest each year, and the Operetta Theater, right in the heart of Pest, is a favorite. We have seen 11 different productions here, most of them several times.
The theater is a beautiful neo-baroque white-and-gold masterpiece with...More
What a delightful compact theatre, with a mass of small private boxes. We were part of a small party, so although I cannot be specific about ticket prices, I do know that they were very reasonable. Food and drink is available, but be warned, if...More
Just saw the Hunchback of Notre Dame musical. Was surprisingy good and moving. Despite being a Disney musical, it is for adults (no happy ending and big romantic drama - it follows the Victor Hugo novel).
Great music, good voices and choreography.

Box seats for a couple were extremely reasonable. Acoustics were fantastic. Order tickets online and print before you come. The little cafe at the front serves great pastry and is reasonably priced. Orchestra was very good. The theater is beautiful inside. The audience is appreciative...More

I bought the tickets online directly from the operetta theatre's website for a performance last May. I was able to choose my specific seats online and the prices for each seat were listed. I didn't have any problem then. I don't remember the exact prices, but they were very inexpensive compared to NYC prices. We had first row center box seats and I think they cost less than $35. Sparkling wine and hors d'oeuvres during intermission were complementary for box seats.
