We were just walking back from the spa and stumbled upon this area. It truly is beautiful and there was something magical about being there at night.

Heroes' Square includes several impressive buildings and monuments. Bring a guidebook so you can understand what you're looking at. It's spacious so doesn't feel crowded. After you've seen it, continue into Varosliget Park, which is a wonderful city park with many things to see.

Varosliget is a lovey park situated behind Heroes' Square. It has Szechenyi Baths, a zoo and Vajdahunyad Castle there. Also a restaurant and a Christmas market. Well worth a visit.

We went for a look around and found that the Christmas market had just begun. Situated on the approach to the castle were lots of colourful stalls selling gifts and local foods. The park itself was nice to stroll around the lake.

Next to hero's square, easy to get to. Wonderful statues (like all over Budapest) lake lawns and castle. A great place to sit and chill after a hard morning in the museums around the square.

It is a great park, with picnic areas, seating, a big pond, plus much grass and trees. There is a bathing building and a zoo to add to the potential activities. The usual stone paths make some of the walking difficult and road traffic makes...More
