The Chain Bridge is only one of several beautiful bridges that cross the Danube at Budapest. These bridges are massive architectural wonders and have withstood the test of time. They are definitely worth taking time to view close-up and from afar.

The bridge was walking distance from my hotel. Can get crowded at times, but nice walk to the sides of the Danube.

Nice for a relaxing stroll but watch out for idiot bicycle riders who insist on riding their bike on the pedestrian walkway.

We were moored by the Chain Bridge before starting our Danube cruise. What a wonderful position to be in to explore this lovely city. The bridge looked amazing day and night. We had the added bonus of sailing under the bridge turning round and entering...More

Beautiful bridge overlooking the river. You can even sit up on the bridge & watch the sunset at night.

One of the landmarks of the city. You have to visit the bridge when you in Budapest. It's one of the significant part of the history.

Its a bridge - useful for getting from Buda to Pest and vice versa, but not what I would call a particularly beautiful bridge. Pretty lit up at night though.

While this is not the original Chain Bridge, it's still a pretty impressive structure and provides a quick and easy path to get from the Buda to the Pest side and back. Beware of the street vendors on the bridge, they can be a bit...More

Not sure whether to visit in January or May. I know it will be a different experience depending on the time of year. What weather can I expect in those months?

The weather in hungary is quite similar to the weather in western europe. So in January you may have some snow and cold temperatures and in May it may be really warm and summer. But no matter which time of year you go there... More
