They have tours in English that take you through this beautiful place, including the house bar which is magnificent and the Royal Box. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see a performance, but the tour was very interesting and informative.

Although we weren't able to watch a show during our stay, we had a guided tour of the opera house, which was informative and interesting. The building is breathtaking.

The opera house is beautiful and in great shape. We took a guided tour and got the history, a good look at things and a mini concert afterwards. Absolutely worth a visit if you find yourself in Budapest

They do regular guided tours of the house from 14.00 in a variety of languages. Our guide was well informed and it was wonderful to have a chance to see over this magnificent 19th C building. There are additional charges for permission to take photos...More

Great performances at low prices! Tickets are available on the internet several months ahead. Attention: Cloak room is mandatory and they only accept cash.

Located right on Andrassy ut. Beautiful from the outside ...and breathtaking inside. Get a ticket for any performance....just seeing the building will be worthwhile your time.

We took the one-hour english tour. Beautiful and historic building. We choose not to take the extra 5 min long singers for two songs. Worth a visit. It's best to buy the tour just before the hour it is planned - as tours might get...More

Not aware of any construction. As another traveller says, the very impressive building opposite is covered in scaffolding and there may be confusion between the two.

Yes! no problem, but there are some steps up and down so bear that in mind. Not sure if you can take a pushchair to the tour....
