Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You get a chocolate with your trip if you have a Budapest card which is nice I guess. The museum itself has barely any information present for a self guided tour and neither are you offered a guided tour. The lady at the ticket place was quite rude and blunt.

Absolutely tiny. It is above the cafe that serves cakes and other quick bites, you have to go up two flights of stairs.
It is quite compact upstairs so probably would discourage small kids and push chairs.
There is a figure of a woman made of marzipan that weighs about 75 kg and parlament building model also made of marzipan, we were told weighing over 30 kg. Apart from that not much to see. You can buy various chocolates and treats, fairly pricy - if you look at similar in the caffe below it is much better value.

Museum is located above the cafe. It's a small museum with items relating to chocolates. Lots of old fashioned moulds, boxes & china items for making got chocolate drink. Large marzipan sculptures - that actually look plastic now.
I suspect the tour with chocolate making is a lot more interesting. But filled half an hour & was interesting enough

Been today with friends to the ground floor cafe for lunch, food was average. Nothing to write home about, great view over the square. However what ruined it was the waitress rudely sighing and rolled her eyes when we asked to split the bill. I’ve never had such rude service. Really I’m sorry I paid for the meal. Were planning on going in the museum after lunch but decided against it After her reaction. If it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t be writing a bad review. Won’t ever be coming back again

Small and not very attractive with no demonstration. The items are mainly made of chocolate covered almonds (marzipan). There are expensive.

Second visit to Budapest and the cake at szamos is so good we had to make a trip there. The cakes are fresh, light, fluffy and extra chocolatey! Such a beautiful location also to stop for a drink and slice of cake

This cafe was recommended to us by someone who works in Budapest. It certainly has an excellent selection of cakes, coffees and shakes. We tried other cafes but this one was a firm favourite of ours! If you sit inside it is self-service and very reasonably priced. It can be found near to the Parliament Building.

Nice place to visit especially for chocolate lovers . Was a really short visit as the museum is really small . We did enjoy the visit but we were expecting to see a bit more chocolate .

Pretty cheap entrance fee and you get some free chocolate when you buy the ticket. Very small museum but some interesting stories and views, such as large and detailed creations using only marzipan

We came across this after visiting the Hungarian Parliament building. It is a really small museum on the 3rd floor of the Szamos Cafe, holds lots of interesting old delights to look at but once again is VERY small. We completed it within a few minutes but managed to get some super pictures.
