Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest karst monuments. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors.

After having a human fish beer in Ljubljana we had to see them for real. The tour guides were very good and engaging. It's difficult to describe the beauty of the caves so go see them yourself. Better/quicker/easier if you book online first. Also, due to limited time slots, I'd recommend doing Predjama castle first (if you're doing both) then... More

If you can get to Postojna Caves, then schedule a visit! About 30 minutes drive from Ljubljana - all motorway. Cost is €78 for family of 4, and lasts approx 1.5 hours. Small train ride down into the depths & then 1.5km walk along decent path with tour guide. Really interesting & definitely worth seeing. Cafe & restaurant at visitor... More

The whole experience was amazing! We went to Slovenia for the day just for this and it was totally worth it. Totally recommended for almost all kind of travelers, the main tour is on a paved road all the time.

This is a unique place to see and the tour takes about 2h. No words to describe how beautiful this cave is. You can also see a rare animal.

These caves are vast ... you travel into the cave on a train for about 1.5km; and then you can explore the caves on foot for about another 1km. The Guides gather in the foyer with boards with the 'language' so that everyone can quickly and easily grouped together. After the train journey, the Guide takes you on a long... More

Amazing trip to this cave with my family. Children under 5 are free. My 2 year old absolutely loved the train. Ok... so did I. Awesome stalagmite and stalagtite formations that would inspire anybody. Reasonable ticket prices, free parking while I visited, but I did see a sign elsewhere charging €4. In any case this trip is totally worth it.... More

After a 50 minute drive from the Prinsendam docked in Koper through the picturesque Karst Region we arrived at Postojnska Jama (Cave) 20 km long Karst cave system. Our groups guide purchased our fourteen tickets while we relaxed with coffee and pastries at the Montania Okrepčevalnica (Snack). The tour groups were arranged by their different languages in front of the... More

I was highly skeptical but these caves deserve every superlative description found in these reviews. Their scale and beauty are breathtaking--a must see. We just couldn't believe how huge they are. After riding by train through chamber after chamber, there were still an hour's worth of amazing chambers to walk through. I highly recommend visiting these caves. Words can hardly... More

It is a beautiful and huge stalactite cave. To discover the stalactites and stalagmites is very exciting and not too tiring. Guides are very nice and friendly. The most surprising may be that it is so big that you need to get on a train to reached the wonder. It's absolutely worth visiting.
