The Roman walls are in various sites around the city and you can easily do a tour of the Roman areas. The walls were interesting for seeing the city, but not the most impressive of Roman walls. Worth a look if you're touring the city.

The actual walls are reconstructions. The pyramid of stone is heavily weathered and not attractive despite being comparatively new. There is a lack of information about the wall itself. Unfortunately the area is ridden with drug addicts who seem to group up under the pyramid....More

There isn't anything majestic here, but the implementions of Plecnik's view on the old walls is really nice. It gives you a peacful feeling and you get away from the crowds to get some rest. If you aren't tired of walking all day, walk a...More

These walls have been reconstructed to give some idea of what they were like in the Roman city of Emona many centuries ago. There's not really that much to see and everything looks quite modern, although the location is quite peaceful.

Partly hidden attraction is near the medieval part of the town, behind huge secondary school. It is a narrow and long park with partly reconstructed Roman wall, some antique sarcophaguses and remains. It is not maintained perfectly. Some climbers use the wall for training, some...More

Everything seems sort of tirolian here, with a few onion domes here and there. Then boom! roman antiquity stares you in the face! Another opportunity to review our history lessons and learn more about the far-reaching SPQR

It's not the original wall. It's a renovation done with bits of the original wall. The coolest bits have nothing to do with the roman wall and our embellishments by local architect hero Joze Plecnik. It's really not worth the walk or even a slight...More

The city of Ljubljana has more Roman history than I ever could have imagined. It's said that no matter where in the city you dig, it will take forever to build anything because you will no doubt find a piece of Roman pottery, jewelry or...More

The Roman walls are inconspicuous enough to be sort of tricky to find--but we finally came upon them. It's nice for a quiet walk and interesting to see the historic ruins -- but not a major attraction in the city. Of course, that's not a...More
