Nice to look at but not much to do. From the square (circle) you can see the castle and three bridges as well as the famous pink church. The free walking tour also starts from there. A must do when in Ljubliana.

We spent an hour or so wandering around Preseren Square which is adjacent to the Dragon Bridge. The Preseren Statue honours France Preseren who was a 19th century romantic Slovene poet and who has been generally acknowledged as the greatest Slovene classical author. There is...More
All the tourists in the city start (or end) their visit here. On a Saturday morning there were several street artisit like musucuans and acrobats who made shows and played and created a nice vibe.
anyway, it is a lively spot for street performers - more good ones than bad. You get to see some very nice architeral buildings. Plus, there is a nice statue .
head here to start exploring monuments, churches, shops, bars, cafes, etc. In front of the 3 bridges over the main river.
Preseren Square is the heart and introduction to Old Town. My first day in Lbjuljana there were crowds of tourists, street performers, busy locals, tour groups, photographers, artists etc. making a grand mix on the square, all in all very entertaining.
We walked through and around this square numerous times during our visit, and always paused to admire the buildings and statues, buy food from street vendors and people watch. Just across the river from the old town, via the interesting triple bridge.
This square is the centre of town and has street performers most of the time. It is also the gateway to sites such as the triple bridge. Spend some time here just watching the passing parade.
