Castles can be interesting to a point, but by including the time machine tour it brought the castle visit to life, useful especially if taking teenagers on the visit. The tour is guided and stops off at 5 or 6 points during the tour to...More

This is a quick 10 min walk from the core of the city, albeit a bit uphill. At the end of a weekday there was some parking available but I wouldn't personally risk it. The entrance to the courtyard of the castle is free and...More

A little bit of a walk up to the castle but well worth it. We just went up for the views at the castle and from the top of the tower. The views were awesome so it is a must do in Ljubljana!

Ljubljana castle dominates the city skyline. I stayed in the Best Western Old Town hotel and arrived in the evening. I went for a run and decided to see if I could find my way to the castle. There's a very pleasant path up to...More

Brilliant day spent round this castle. Lots to see and fantastic views. Picked up a headset and set off round the various points of interest. Fascinating insight into Slovenian history.

This is the highest place in downtown Ljubljana, from which you can see all the city. It also has museums and restaurants, which you can experience.

There is no parking at the top. The two ways to get up are via walking or taking the funicular railway.
