Old Ljubljana is small, accessible and very agreeable. Gornji street offers traditional cuisine, cafes, hip little shops, the occasional brilliant street musician, and beautifully restored buildings and square. Perfect place for a stroll regardless of weather.

Gornji trg is underestimated part of medieval Ljubljana. There are oldest buildings of medieval city, a Baroque church, some bars and shops. You can start your trip to the castle hill from there. Look at the fountain and at a palace, built by Max Fabiani. You need just 10 minutes to walk up to the church and back to the... More

The old town doesn't have any vehicles which makes it a very attractive place to walk through. Gornji street seems to be the main walkway with plenty of boutique shops and cafes along the way and the mandatory historical buildings. Hard to miss when you visit the old town.

Lovely street with many photographic moments. Good range of independent shops and restaurants. The castle can be reached from the street up a steep cobbled path.

bordered on both sides by some beautiful buildings this is a great example of old town. Given the pedestrianisation of old town you need never fear competing for space with cars.

Walk all the way down the street from the town hall end and you will reach the small square with the statue of the young Hercules. I thought this area and the street that goes up towards the castle to be the most beautiful part of the city. There are lots of quite expensive shops, galleries, hotels and restaurants down... More

What can I say...this street has everything. One of our favorite restaurants, wonderful local products, unique clothing shops, and lots of charm.

It is a relatively small square, but full around with building from the 15-18 centuries. As everywhere in old town there are restaurants, coffee shops.

I love tis square, it is so peaceful. The Music Accademy scolars make it very relaxing (mostly). Also the atmosphere is warm and peaceful. The coffee shop Pri Vodnjaku is very nice. Also the shops and the hotels are lovely.
