Lovely bit of history around this bridge with the shoe maker connection, although it was denuded of any kind of footwear on overhead cables, that I can see from other photos on Trip Advisor, when we visited?!

A nice bridge to cross with its distinct look and all the activities surrounding you. I assume its name came from a Shoemaker's shop located at the end of the bridge.

I didn't know this was called Cobblers Bridge until we took a boat ride and the owner mentioned it. Good there is a shoemakers shop at one end of the bridge

Wide bridge with pillars on it. Nothing there that explains it but a guidebook or a tour guide will explain that shoe makers used to set up shop here. Love a bit a history.

I walked on the right side of the river from the Preseren Square then crossed this bridge to visit the other attractions on the other side of the river. At the middle of this bridge, I briefly stopped to take more pictures of the neighborhoods...More

Bridges were originally designed wide enough for the appointed shopkeepers to set up stalls along each side of the footbridges. This one was for the shoemakers. Not exciting, but interesting none the less.

Shoemaker's Bridge is a pedestrian bridge with very distinctive pillars. There is no real reference to the long ago cobbler's shops after which the bridge is named. It does offer, though, nice views of the river.

Nothing about this bridge makes it stand out from others, quite plain and simple but does have an information board at the end of it explaining the history behind it which was interesting to read. Another photo for the bridge collection but nicer ones elsewhere.

It is one of the bridges designed by the favorite architect. It crosses the river to join Old town & new.
