Lovely bit of history around this bridge with the shoe maker connection, although it was denuded of any kind of footwear on overhead cables, that I can see from other photos on Trip Advisor, when we visited?!
I walked on the right side of the river from the Preseren Square then crossed this bridge to visit the other attractions on the other side of the river.

Bridges were originally designed wide enough for the appointed shopkeepers to set up stalls along each side of the footbridges. This one was for the shoemakers. Not exciting, but interesting none the less.
Shoemaker's Bridge is a pedestrian bridge with very distinctive pillars. There is no real reference to the long ago cobbler's shops after which the bridge is named. It does offer, though, nice views of the river.
