Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can leave your car on the beginig of road to the castle. It is a nice walk of cca 1-2 km (there are more parking options). The old castle with interesting history, great view on city Celje and surrouding places. There is a nice coffee shop with open terrace and kids playgraound.

We stopped to visit Celje Castle on our journey from Maribor to Ljubljana, and it was worth the effort to take this detour. The exhibits in the castle were informative and we learned quite a bit of how important this castle was for this area in medieval times. There was also a torture exhibit in the dungeon of the tower which was also interesting.

The man at the reception is really friendly. He gave our daugter a paper crown. Inside there are two open towers holding a museum, bar and that's basically it. Gor for an hours or max two.

Went there with my friends yesterday. Ticket is 6 eur. For every ticket you get one eur to spend in the coffee shop, which is nice.
Castle is pretty cool, you can go through it fast but also stop at few places with a nice view.
I would definitely recommend it.

The parking lot is 20meters from entrance. Fridays was not crowded at all. Entrance fee fair. Parking free. Entrance included voucher f coffee shop. Coffee shop also friendly and fair priced. Restrooms superb clean. Good renovated walking paths. Serveral fun spots for kids. Modern museum shop even here no tourist rip off. This was a very relaxing visit, where the guest is treated as valued partner !

Unfortunately, main building has been in renovation. Climbed the Frederick's Tower: short trip on wide metal stairs, up several levels - worth a trip for awesome views of Celje and the whole valley.

Celje castle is a unique fortification object preserving a several layers of history. The interiors are not decorated nor there's any kind of a decent exhibition room - which one would expect to see, but nevertheless, it's truly a great place to spend your time. You can take a look on a beautiful panorama of Celje and surrounding hills, and, of course, enjoy exploring the castle, which is quite big, consisting of a several buildings dating back to different historical periods. Climbing the tall tower called "Friderikov stolp" is great and awarding experience, though not recommended to people suffering from the fear of heights. It's a must see in Celje, even when you don't have much time for sightseeing. Lot of fun for families as well for adult travelers enjoying history, architecture and beautiful places.

Celje castle is something that is "must do" in Celje in a way of culture or nature. So nice view to Alps and great fresh air around . Combination of great history with breath of 100% nature.

A real discovery. Fortress and ruins of the former castle of Celje. Mysterious and somewhat morbid life of nobles who lived in northern Croatia in addition to Slovenia. The Museum of Horror fits perfectly into the area. Nice piece of history.
