It’s appropriate that when standing and viewing the statue from its front that the peak they climbed is right over their collective shoulders. Nice planning on someone‘s part.

While waiting for the bus back to Bled after taking the boat across Lake Bohinj we walked across to the park containing the monument which was right alongside the main road. Views up to the mountains behind were impressive too.
