We stay at a hotel very close to Lake Bled, walked around it twice, and rowed across it once. A wonderful place to visit, lots to do for all ages.

The gondola ride takes about 1 1/2 hours round trip. 20 min there and 20 back and the rest gives you time to browse around the island and church. You might see a wedding while you are there. Tradition is that the groom has to...More

Was really looking forward to it, but in the end was disappointed. The place is meant to be tranquil and pletna boats authentic, but far too touristy for that. The church is just like any other thousands of similar churches in Slovenia or Austria. If...More

Have to do it. The only island in Slovenia. Pretty church and you get to ring the bell & make a wish! You need to be reasonably agile as the only way there is by boat. A hundred steps up from the shore but there...More

Take one of rowed water buses ove to the island. Very relaxing and silent, which makes it even more magical. Go visit the church and bell tower, and certain don’t the lovely cafe.

It wouldn't be a visit to Bled if you didn't ride a plenta boat to the island. It is rather pricey and touristy but asks yourself, when will you be back to do it again? Once on the island, you can get beautiful views of...More

As far as i know, you can't. You buy the tickets for the boat from one of the start points.

Yes you can. The water is warmer than you might think. I believe there is a warm stream coming into the lake. If you wish, you can swim to the island.

As the other answer said - it is doable with a stroller but there are a lot of stairs up to the church and when walking around the bottom of the island there are quite a few bumps and tree roots etc. Once you're up the... More
