We really enjoyed our visit of the castle, but most of all we enjoyed the views. There are few places to visit at the castle: museum, winery and do stop by for printing demonstrations using recreations from Gutenberg’s original machinery. Also try the cake at...More

My visit was with fiends, after dinner when we were a bit in a hurry. Still, the climb to the fortress was well worth the effort. After a little stroll you can enjoy a beautiful view and scenery, and even as it was getting dark...More

It is well worth visiting Bled Castle as the views from there of the surrounding area are wonderful. The exhibition showing local life was interesting and the party I was with had a guide who explained the exhibits for us and told us the history...More

First mentioned in written documents in 1011, this is Slovenia’s oldest castle and, perched atop a cliff at 420 feet above the lake, surely one of the most picturesque ones as well. The castle buildings are arranged around a lower and an upper courtyard. We...More

Most people probably visit Bled Castle for the views but there is a lot more on offer. It has a print shop, restaurant, museum, chapel, wine cellar and art gallery. Initially built around 1000 years ago it has been renovated many times over the centuries....More

Bled castle is in a picturesque location that provides a great view of Lake Bled and its surroundings. The walk to the top of the hill on which the Castle is situated provides a nice view of the castle and local scenery as well.

It was a beautiful castle and had even more beautiful views but I arrived with two tour buses so it was very overcrowded!

The drive to the castle is through some narrow roads so just follow the signs. Plenty of parking is available at the cost of 3 EUR. Ticket is free if you eat at the restaurant. There's a small museum with some interesting facts about the...More

Many have mentioned it is a steep walk up to the castle and someone else mentioned taking a shuttle bus. Does the castle offer a shuttle up to the entrance? I will be traveling with elderly people who will not be able to climb it. Also, has anyone visited the wine cellar? Do you have to plan for this in advance? Many thanks,

There is no free shuttle bus. If you have someone elderly I would recommend a taxi. They can be organised at the shop beside the tourist information in the main town. I did not know about the wine cellar. However, if you... More

There is a large area of the lake sectioned off for swimming in the summer. When outdoor swimming is not possible, we used Ziva wellness centre which charges around €10 for 3 hours use of the pool/outdoor heated pool, we... More
I don't need to know about Bled as we visited there in 2014 but I do want to ask about completing the Review page.re the date of our visit. The only date options were for 2016 so I had to select Sept 2016 when it was actually Sept 2014. There was no way that I could put in the correct date. Why is this?
