Located immediately adjacent to St. John's Archcathedral, this relatively small church is comparatively plain and simple. Officially known as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces. It has a plain white interior. Like most of the area, it was destroyed in WWII and later rebuilt.

Called Polish mannerism, the architecture looks post-roccoco and is quite unique among the churches I have visited in Warsaw and elsewhere around the country. The door is a deconstruction of angels and this continues within. All very interesting but not sure how it speaks to the traditionally faithful.

This church is located close by my favourite restaurant Zapieciek in on Old town. Just around the corner from castle square.
It's a but sandwiched between many buildings and if not for its unusual shape, it would have been very easy to have been overlooked.

Built between 1609 & 1629, I imagine almost all visitors to Warsaw will visit this fine church as it stands next door to Warsaw Cathedral. Like so many other buildings in the city, this church was almost completely destroyed in 1944 by the German invaders but has been rebuilt using the original plans which had survived. The interior is entered via amazing modern bronze doors & is lit by natural light coming in through the lantern in the dome. Visits are allowed only when there is not a service in progress.

What struck me most about this church were the numerous rosary beads hanging on the walls circling the main altar. When I returned home, I tried researching why they were there but so far have not been able to find the answer. Compared to other churches in Poland, the interior is plain and mostly white in color. Above the main altar you will see a sunburst with a painting of the Mother of God. The entrance doors are unique and are referred to as the “angel doors”. The church is located next to St. John’s Cathedral in Warsaw

This church was completely destroyed. Rebuilt after the war, its doors are the creation of sculptor Igor Mitoraj

This beautiful church is located immediately adjacent to St John's Cathedral.
Originally, the church was completed in 1626. The church was destroyed during World War II. After the war, it was rebuilt in a simplified architectural style.
The interior is quite modern because very few of the original furnishings were preserved.

The Jesuit Church, also known as the Church of the Gracious Mother of God, is an ornate church adjacent to St. John's Cathedral. This church was destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt between the 1950s and 1970s. The interior is beautiful and when no service is being conducted photographs are permitted.

The first thing you notice is the impressive doors. Beautiful alter. It is an active church with people inside. It was nice to sit and pray.
