Description:

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum...

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum dedicated to restoring the memory of the civilization created by Polish Jews in the course of a millennium.Museum's building faces the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw. The Museum completes the memorial complex. At the monument, we honor those who perished by remembering how they died. At the museum, we honor them, and those who came before and after, by remembering how they lived. As a museum of life, POLIN Museum engages with the present and opens out to the future. As an educational and cultural institution, the museum is dedicated to stimulating dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect. Museum's core exhibition is a journey through the 1000-year history of Polish Jews. Enter this theater of history where the story unfolds in acts and scenes as you walk. Immerse yourself in the story. Encounter those who lived in each period - their words are quoted throughout the exhibition. Enter the scene - a salon, tavern, home, church, synagogue, or schoolroom. There are surprises in drawers you can open, screens and objects you can touch, and much that you can see - artifacts, photographs, documents, and films. Each visit to the museum will be different. There will always be something new to inspire you!

Strong security. It shows history of Jews in Poland from early centuries. It was educational for me. There is a lot of things here that gives you understanding of people involved. Historical and legal fundamentals through history. It's a must see for people with willingness to learn, read.

The museum is very informative for 1000 years of history, but it does not reach the same high level as many museums I have seen throughout Poland. It is worthwhile, but not in the top few I would recommend in Warsaw.

Ok. So you're covering 1000 years of history, so it is a very long exhibition. Allow yourself at least 5 hours if you're wanting to fully read on everything. We found that even with 4 hours, we had to rush from 1939 onwards, which was a shame. And we totally missed the last part post war as it was closing...... More

A must see museum. Great interactive displays, very educational! talks about a 1000 years of Jewish history in Poland, not just the 2nd world war/ Holocaust part (which is also very well made). Take the Audio tour, very informative.

Our tour group was doing a Jewish heritage tour of Poland (before we went to Israel). Since Warsaw was bombed to the ground by the Nazis there isn't much heritage to see except this Muesum and the Jewish Cemetary and the SS office building. This muesum had highly professional quality exhibits of What Jewish life was like before WW2. Of... More

This museum is downstairs, we missed the sign and went up stairs to the corporate meeting rooms and theatre. So jumped into the lift and went down and back in history. A very informative history giving snippets of information from ancient documents, which gives accounts of the times they lived in, much of which was new to me, very interesting.... More
