Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Walk through this street by accident, but it was a very pleasant surprise! It's a very old structure with lots of history and character. It's almost like wanting to tell a story to the present viewer. Stop and take time to "relish" the message this street has to tell.

On route to the uprising museum we came upon Prozna St. As a history teacher with a special interest in the Nazi occupation and the Holocaust it would not be difficult to understand my interest in this building. Unfortunately the facade that featured pictures of the victims was covered up and the building was draped in scaffolding. Indeed it looked to me as if the building was being demolished. Whilst I understand the need to progress I do feel sorry if my fears that we are about to lose such a historic and poignant building, are realised. That said I feel very pleased and privileged to have stood next to it. You get so much more from this, I believe, than you do from a curated museum. Even with what I have described I would recommend a walk out to the building whilst you still can!

This is one of the few remaining streets of wartime Warsaw. You can still see the bullet holes in the building.

Ulica Prozna (Prozna Street) was once part of the Warsaw Ghetto. Most of the ghetto buildings were destroyed during the war. The ones that survived are almost gone. This is the only street in Jewish Warsaw where the buildings have been preserved on both sides of the street. They were never restored and sadly are now falling apart.
We visited this street and were just amazed by it. There was history right before our eyes. Sad history, but history nevertheless. How sad it was standing there thinking that the Jewish families who once lived there were probably sent to their deaths at Treblinka or one of the other camps.
As we walked down the street one of the doors was open and I poked my head in and took a couple of photos of the stairway with the paint chipping off the walls.
When visiting Warsaw I highly recommend visiting this street for it is a stark reminder of what once was.

The philosopher Wittgenstein said something along the lines "of that we cannot speak, must be consigned to silence". Please TripAdvisor, these are not attractions, can you create a category of memorials/remembrance. Guide people to them, but not to rate them, the memories they hold are too important for that.

I stumbled upon this treasure trying to find my way back to the Hotel after a long day of walking tour.

I was struck speechless. The sombre portraits of the prior residents spoke volumes.
The curators did a marvelous job utilizing photos to project voices and life to otherwise what would have been just another crumbling building. Including subjects of all ages amplifies the poignancy -- these were real people, real families that lived and perished here in the past.

My heart was heavy with reflection upon all those feelings stirred up by all that moving history.
As I was leaving I noticed a small but beautifully landscape park right across the street.
It was a great counter-balance to cheer me up some after a moving experience like such. Check out the photos.

Walking down Prozna Street was an interesting opportunity to step back into time. The building has not been touched since the war, so reminders such as bullet holes are still there. There are pictures posted on the outside of the building that really brought the area to life. We had planned to stop by for a few minutes, but stayed a while longer pondering what this area may have been like during the war.

Prozna Street must be preserved, but how? The street is remarkable and to walk along it is a truly unique experience, possibly on a worldwide scale. But how much longer can the buildings last in their perilous condition? To renovate would be almost a sacrilege, yet there must be a solution which is both sensitive and practical. Is there any public body which could undertake this project? I will always be haunted by my visit. Catherine Jaraszkiewicz Aberdeen, Scotland

Passing by Prozna street, I felt like I went back in the time of the WW 2, and those pictures on the wall of the building made me almost cry. So much suffering, so many innocent people were victims of this damned war!

PROZNA STREET ( Empty Street ) is a street that in a couple of years will be like any other renovated street in Warsaw and that is a sad state of affairs as at one time there were 4 tenement houses here that were the only surviving buildings from the Ghetto.
I know time moves on but ww2 had a massive impact on the Polish people and in particular the Jewish population and renovating these tenements seems to me a little callous, they should have been left as a permanent reminder of the atrocities committed here by the German army during the war and particularly after the Warsaw uprising in 1944.
If you still want to visit this street be quick as these buildings are being renovated quickly and sadly will soon dissappear from the memory.
