    Not within Walking Distance
Buy tickets in advance. English audioguide was helpful. This palace is about ten km driving distance from central Warsaw, but no issues getting rideshare to-from (less than $20). There's a major bus stop a short walk away. The gardens are nice but see the palace inside. Gardens are more magnificent in Lazienki Park. Our advance tickets were for opening time, before the school groups arrived.

    Nice Palace and Grounds
This is a nice palace which is well worth making the trip out to from the city centre. We got there on the bus from the city centre which was easy and low cost. Make sure you also walk round the grounds.

    Stunning palace in beautiful grounds
We enjoyed our visit here, as a way to relax for an hour or so after travelling. It is a way out of town, but we thought that it was worth breaking the journey from the airport, and enjoyed some food & drink in the charming onsite cafe. The palace exterior was stunning, with beautiful gardens, and faded yet glorious interior. Entry is approx €8 per adult (although it is free on Thursdays).

    Don't miss this
We had the good fortune of being guided by our excellent Warsaw guide on an optional excursion as part of Trafalgar Tours' Best of Poland . She explained everything significant about the Versailles of Poland including the story of how the King's beloved French Queen disliked the original Italian design but was subsequently happy with the French design! Can't forget how she had 16 pregnancies but only four children survived. So it's a love story somewhat like the Taj Mahal being built for a beloved Queen. You go through 2 levels of wondrous paintings, portraits, sculptures and artefacts, ceiling frescoes, bedrooms and chambers for visiting dignitaries. Then on to the grounds with the gardens in typical Hampton Court style . Thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the aristocratic lifestyle of the era. Best done with a professional guide, just the audio guide I suspect, isn't adequate.

Far but the grounds are incredible
I came here via Uber on a Wednesday afternoon in early July 2024. It was an hour away from the city center by public transportation or 30 minutes via ride share. You purchase your tickets at the front then at the kiosk inside the Palace, you can rent the audio guide and pick it up at the bag check. The palace is huge with an incredible amount of history. It's a lot bigger than the Royal Castle and has a wonderful garden. Well worth the visit.

No English guide (audio or in person) available, which greatly diminished the experience. We also had to fight groups for passage. Some rooms extremely dark which made it near impossible to read explanations. Also some stairways were dimly lit making it dangerous ( not all steps even). Be prepared to take public transportation for return as there are no taxi stands close by.

A beautiful palace with even more beautiful gardens. It's a pretty quiet place where you can rest and enjoy beautiful views.
I highly recommend it because it is a lifetime experience, and what is also importants it is cheap to get there (at least for students).

Good to tour this palace/museum with a guide to get the full impact. Interesting insights into the aristocrats’ way of life! The palace has had some 120 owners over the years, but is now a govt owned museum. Beautiful, attractive exterior; interior with some Baroque decor; lots of paintings. Surrounding gardens are probably fabulous in summer, but not much to see when we visited in October.

Wilanov Castle in Warsaw and the adjoining cathedral are really amazing for at least half a day visit. The exterior and interior are magnificent with extensive gardens and parkland. Taxis are very cheap in Warsaw so it was very inexpensive to get there and the taxi driver was so reliable he came back at
1 pm sharp to pick me up! The castle also has a great little restaurant.

We visited the Palace on our final afternoon in Warsaw and were running late due to very slow service at a nearby bar where we stopped for a quick(!) beer. Had not realised that last entry is at 3pm on a Thursday and so were in a bit of a mad panic to get the tickets, but were re-directed from the entry to a separate ticket office out near the front of the palace grounds, over 100m away. Despite being a few minutes late they still let us in.
If you have seen a few palaces, the interior is a bit underwhelming, fairly standard antiques and furniture, no really outstanding pieces or rooms or frescoes. The gardens are small but impressive (fully in flower during our visit in July). But I think the outside of the palace is the best part, particularly if you are lucky enough to have bright sunshine bring out the yellow (our day was cloudy but the sun did come out briefly to get a feel of how it looks).

A beautiful palace that is a feast for the eyes but there is little substance provided as a museum. We got the audio tour and walked the entire property. We left without a clue of when and why the palace was built, by whom, or how its residents lived. The display numbers of the audio tour and the flow of information were seemingly nonsensical. For example, it began on an upper floor with a tour through Asian-themed rooms and zero basic information about the palace. We then wandered through each display that had mind-numbing detail on some things while others simply describe what we’re seeing with our own eyes. No beginning, middle, end. No cohesive narrative. Impossible to retain this information. What a waste. Visit for the visuals but don’t bother trying to learn anything. The grounds and gardens are beautiful but are cheapened by tacky light-up decorations and giant artificial flowers. It takes away from the natural beauty.
