A good location to have the statue - right outside the town hall in the Torun Main square. Torun is proud of the man that "stopped the sun".

Situated in the middle of Torun in the old town square, the stature of Copernicus stands out and is a focal point in Torun. Worth a photo and browse.

Torun is a beautiful city and it's all.cause of sir nicholas that this city is so famous. This is definitely one of the highlights in the old town.

Self explanatory really, statue of Copernicus where he was based most of his time in Poland working. Kind of interesting that he was also a lawyer and doctor as well as scientist

The statue is placed in the historical city center and gives a good impression of the proudness of the city in being the birthplace of Copernicus.

Walking through the town brings many beautiful and enjoyable sights including this monument. The clock is magnificent and plays on the hour.

In a nice position on one of the corners of this "place", there is the monument representing Copernicus. It is quite trivial to have it here, and not so exciting.

This sculpture is a very real representation o one of Poland favorite sons. We saw memorials to Copernicus all over Poland and this one was very well done.

He was a scientist and famous astronomer who indicated that the sun not the earth was the center of the universe. His scientific center and home are in Torin and well worth visiting.
