Even the walk to the Treblinka memorial is ghostly. You follow the path that the real railway line once took to the death camp, walking through a forest of tall, densely packed trees that cut off all sounds from outside, so that you cannot help but sink into silent contemplation as you go. And then you reach the former railway... More

It may seem very strange to write a review 11 years after having visited a place, but such was the effect of Treblinka on both my wife and myself, that it has seared itself into our memories. Our visit was actually in September 2005 (the compulsory visiting dates for reviews would not let us go back that far). Whilst Auschwitz-Birkenau... More

This death camp was destroyed by the Germans to hide their crimes. The model in the adjacent museum helps you to visualize what was there. The memorial is very well done.

This is mainly a memorial site rather than anything else (much of the small museum is about the archaeological work). I had no idea before visiting what the memorial would consist of, but I now feel it deserves much greater recognition as an emotionally powerful and creatively imaginative way to convey something of the extent of what happened in this... I have read lots about WW2 and visited many of the sites in Germany, Poland and other countries. I visited TREBLINKA extermination memorial site at the end of June 2016 via INTOPOLAND. This is a Travel service that organises tailor -made visits with English speaking guide/s for one or more people in air conditioned vehicles. It was 31C every day.... More

Arty, but little historical evidence and little educational fact , for teenagers it is difficult to grasp the reality of what happened there and the message to take away

I was lucky enough to visit this site on a teacher training educational so I had the benefit of a team of educators to explain the origins, function and memorialisation of the site. Nonetheless, this site is definitely worth a visit if you're in this "neck of the woods" - for those looking for museums, information and tour guides (like... More

I was there with a group of my friends. We travelled thousands of kilometers across Europe and almost accidentally stopped here to visit the memorial after we realized we are just few kilometers from this place. We all have been to Auschwitz several years ago, so we thought we knew what to expect. We were talking to each other every... More

Not much to add to what others have said. I went down to the Labour Camp and Execution site ( which is actually a cemetery) and think it was worth it. I have no other words for this place. Somewhere I needed to come. Only signposted when you get there. Be sure of your directions of driving - it's NOT... More

This place was well remembered and as it should be in terms of preserving the memory of the holocaust. There was a museum before you went to the site which provides contextual information and a scale model of the death camp as it had been. This really set the tone before visiting. We went on a warm summer day and... More
