This statue stands in front of St. Bartholomew Church (interesting in itself, with two levels). Somehow it has been restored to its former grace and beauty, and prepares you for the sight of the west façade of St. John the Baptist Cathedral up ahead.

This statue is located in the very historic district of Ostro Tumski close to two churches, the Cathedral and in the heart of the original settlement of Wroclaw.

We came across this statue during our walk to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Our guide did not talk about him so I just quickly took some photos before moving on.

This towering monument stands just outside St. Bartholomew Church (Kolegiata Świętego Krzyża i św. Bartłomieja). Its worth stopping to have a look while walking around Ostrow Tumski.

We walked past this lovely statue and admired it without breaking stride. It looked like it was made of stone with some gold detailing picked out. I couldn't tell you what it depicted, but I'm sure other people or Wikipedia will. There's a sign on...More

While wandering around the beautiful Cathedral Island we came across this stunning statue. Like the rest of this great tourist destination the statues blend in superbly with the great cathedral and the churches here. It's hard to believe the destruction that was wrought on this...More
