Well worth visiting whilst in Zakopane - stunning views and great experience
This is one of the tallest mountains overlooking the town of Zakopane, and definitely not to be missed. The Cable Car takes you up over the course of about 20 minutes and when you reach the top, dependent on the type of weather, you will be rewarded with either stunning views back down to the town, or an invigorating experience of snow and cloud, watching the cables of the cable car disappear eerily into the clouds below. Both are well worth going up for. Either way, take appropriate warm, protective clothing, including hats, scarves, gloves and decent footwear. The restaurant at the top is a very good canteen style affair, selling hot and cold food, cakes, coffees, teas and especially worth trying; the local hot spiced wine.

Kasprowy Wierch Cable Car - southern Poland
We went for a ski event our daughter was participating in. I recommend ordering tickets on the website ahead of time. We tried the day of on Sunday and there were no tickets available until after the event was completed. The ride does not take long between the 2 stations. They do have 2 cafeterias at the top. I am thinking in the summer, there would be some nice hiking from there.

    Breathtaking & busy
We booked our ticket online, as this is a popular attraction in Zakopane. This turned out to be a good idea as online bookings take priority on those booking at the ticket office. On arrival, the ticket queue is very, very long & we went September which isnt peak season! Stay to left of the queue if you already have tickets. The cable car is cramped so unless u manage to squeeze to the window the view can be restricted. But in spite of that, what an amazing experience. Smooth travel up the cable line. You only have an hour & 40 mins at the top so bring your own food, to save wasting time trying to get some at the restaurant on top. The views are breathtaking & trails well managed. A must experience for trail lovers & those with an appreciation of the beauty of nature.

Although the view from the top was undeniably beautiful I found the cable car experience scary as it was horribly crowded, like the tube in rush hour, and as we were so crammed it was hard to see much anyway as the cable car went up and down. Also it didn’t feel like anyone was in charge- it was so packed that I could not see anyone operating it.
For a family of 4 we paid the equivalent of £80- very expensive.
Then at the top I had to queue for 15 minutes (no exaggeration) to use the ladies toilets and they charged equivalent of 50p to use the toilets! The loo paper was horrid.
So I do not recommend the cable car but if you have the strength to get up the mountain any other way it’s spectacular at the top!

It’s a waste of time. It’s extremely hard to find any good information on the internet about this cable car and the ski area. Buying tickets in advance is not possible. All days are sold out. As a skier I went to many locations in Austria, France and Italy. After seeing post on Facebook I had good hope to ski for the first time in Poland. It didn’t turn out well. The snow hights are not accurate. You will be walking longer than two kilometers and then you will be in line for at least three hours. There’s a ton of non skiers trying to get to the top. There are now signs whatsoever. In order to get your ticket, there only three ticket boots and two ticket machines providing ski passes. Across the main entrance they sell at a higher rate and their line is much shorter then the mail line. But it’s not a fastpass so you still need to go in line waiting for the cable car. While being in line for two hours (still halfway to go), people were getting back from the top, to get a refund. All the slopes on the top were closed. And we found out a bit later, they were not selling anymore tickets that day. So, don’t waist your time and visit a better and more organized ski area as this resort is far from being organized or clear at all.

I was here last week on holiday with my family, we had to pay 187 euro for 6 skipasses for just 1 skislope for 1 day! They have to reduce the price if the conditions are bad in the mountains. Tatra mountains are beautiful but prices are way to high for what you get. I absolutely don't recommend Kasprowy Wierch for skiing, very bad experience and very brutal and unfriendly staff. Very unprofessional.

We visited Zakopane on a day trip from Krakow in early October and looked at getting the cable car up the mountain. Uncertain what day we were actually going, we did not book the cable car in advance....this is a must really as when we finally got there after a 2 hour coach ride and a 40 minute walk through the town, we found a massive queue and waited the best part of 2 1/2 hours in the queue with no guarantee that we would actually get up the mountain. The area is well served with food and drink outlets, so in relays (not losing space in the queue, we were fed, watered and used the amenities. However we were fortunate and once on the cable car, which is very quick, efficient and modern with each car holding about 60 people, had a fabulous visit and the view from the top was amazing, with mist rolling in across the mountains. Well worth the very long day...just pre-book if possible.

Our favorite outdoor and hiking experience in Zakopane. Unfortunately a very long waiting line to buy tickets (2.5 hours) - and we almost did not get the last tickets) - without particularly good social distancing or use of masks. A much better option would have been to buy the tickets on-line instead.

As expected, the cable car is overcrowded during the winter, and if you did not buy a ticket beforehand, you might stay in queue for a long time. The operating hours are fairly short due to the short daylight time (if not wrong, the final departure up is on 14:00, assuming you will spend some 1.5h on top and go back).
What I did like is the self-sufficient mobile app which gives a lot of historical, technical and navigational data. And it does not need the internet connection.
The facility is quite modern and looks solid, however, the order and safety is more preserved at the bottom station, while it's a mess on top: people are competing to get in front of the queue.

We went on a sunny day with few people, so we didn't queue. The cable car cost 35 euros per person round trip. You have 2 hours to go up, take a short walk and go down. Enough time for us.
Beautiful views. It is very worth it.
