A temple with an incredible atmosphere and concerts
A very beautiful church in the center of the Old Town and not far from Wawel. The atmosphere is incredible. Every evening at 8:00 p.m., concerts of organ and string music are held in the Temple. They went to concerts twice. I liked it very much. There is also an information center for tourists nearby, where you can get tickets for trips, concerts, a map of Krakow, and souvenirs.

    Classical Music at its Best!
Classical favorites played in a stunningly beautiful, easily accessible venue—St. Peter and Paul Church! Different concerts every night of the week at 8:00 PM. Reasonably-priced. Tickets available at the door. Highly recommend as a crowd-pleasing, relaxing cultural activity, that can fill in any free evening in Krakow!

    Interesting Baroque church with concerts
The crypt was the most interesting part, with information about well known Poles. Simple displays offering just the right amount of information. Most evenings there are hour long classical concerts, with the chamber orchestra playing popular pieces.

    Baroque Church with National Masoleum
Excellent church with Baroque design and a national masoleum on site as well. No fee for entry, but you can pay a small fee for an audioguide (appeared to have Polish, English, Spanish, French, and others). Be respectful as it remains an active church.

    Kościół ŚŚ Piotra i Pawła
The "Kościół ŚŚ Piotra i Pawła" (Church of St. Peter and St. Paul) was built between 1597 and 1619 in Baroque style. It is the oldest Baroque building in Krakow, and it was modeled on the churches of "Il Gesù" and "Santa Susanna"in Rome. It is the biggest of the historic Churches of Krakow in terms of seating capacity. This church hosts the longest Foucault's pendulum in Poland (46.5 meters, over 152 feet); it also hosts one of Poland's National Pantheons, with prechers, noblemen, artists and scientists buried here.

Krakow's first church from the baroque era.
Rather special is that the gates towards the street are adorned with big statues of the twelve apostles.
Well inside the interior is, well, very barouqish in the Roman manner. Complete with dome it resembles St Pietro in Rome - although in "miniature".

What's really interesting is that the crypt (entrance in front of the high altar) has been renovated and expanded to a very vast area used as resting place for national writers, artists, musicians etc.
This "National Pantheon" opened its first parts as late as in 2012.

Stylish and dignified atmosphere well worth seeing.

This first Baroque building in Krakow stands in St Mary Magdalene Square, right next to the Romanesque St Andrew’s Church. The church was completed in 1619.

The church has highly ornate architecture. On the two-story facade, you can see statues of Jesuit saints in the niches of the facade. The railings running around the grounds of the church are decorated with sculptures of the 12 apostles.

The interior with striking stucco decoration is also stunning.

We went to this church to listen to the short classical music concert. We felt that the music would have been much improved if held at a different venue. The acoustics were poor. Also some people were waving phones in the air to photograph the musicians - very irritating! Felt sorry for the excellent musicians.

Beautiful Baroque church -- arguably the most beautiful church in Krakow. Built in the 1600s, the church as a beautiful facade, highly ornate organ; an impressive pulpit, and lots of glitter and gold interior. There are large statues of the 12 apostles outside the church.

The peace and beauty of the church was sadly undermined by the rudeness of a member of staff who was obviously having a bad day (or a bad life?) and decided to take it out on my friend who, having removed his hat at the door, had absent mindedly put it back on out of habit after pausing to sit down for a while. I can't remember the last time I heard someone be spoken to like that... Possibly in a nightclub. Not a great ethos for a holy place.
