A short (25 mins or so) trip by public transport away from the hustle, bustle (and tourists!) of Krakow, this Abbey will delight, albeit there is not a great deal to see - but it is nevertheless well worth the visit. It is beautifully situated...More

I checked in here for 150 zloties a night, and breakfast is provided. If you would like, they provide lunch (20 zl) and supper (26 zl) upon request. I participated in the Divine Office prayers and the conventual masses - all held in Polish but...More

I enjoyed the opportunity to not only visit the oldest monastery in Poland (nearly 1000 years), but to actually stay there for two nights. Having a guest house is something you might not expect at a monastery, but the Benedictines have provided this opportunity for...More

It's probably most famous monastery in Poland. Located on high banks of the river Wisła in a place called Tyniec, which used to be a village, now a district of Kraków. Access by a narrow road - one can be surprised how many cars can...More

A modern museum in an old abbey. Interesting tours guided by real Benedictine monks. The place is over 1000 years old. Only a 15-minute drive from the city center. Gotta do Tyniec if you're visiting Krakow.

Go by bus there and back.It is cheaper+ quicker than by boat and you see real Polish life in the suburbs plus stretches of the river. Sitting on a small but imposing cliff, the Abbey represents a change of pace plus Poland's will to rebuild...More

I intend to go back, this was a truly magical experience. I had the privilege of hearing the chants sung by monks at the abbey during a mass, and was led on a tour by an enthusiastic guide who took the time to show us...More

It's a very nice monastery, well worth the short drive from Krakow. We opted for a guided tour and we may recommend it. Our guide was a young student of arts, she was well informed and contageously passionate about the monastery's interesting history. We were...More

Stunningly located on a hill about the Wisla river, the Abbey was founded around 1040 and monks since then have been buried on site. There is a small museum showing artifacts from the recent excavations and remodeling. Tours are available in English if you book...More
