Considered one of the most magnificent of the Kazimierz synagogues, this structure was built in the mid-seventeenth century in a Judaic-Baroque architectural style.

The Synagogue has been restored and is worth a visit but, unless you have a special interest, combine your visit with a 1-hour Klezmer Music Concert. Check the times at the tourist office (where you can book a ticket) but they are usually at 6pm...More

The most interesting aspect of the Isaac Synagogue are the prayers on the wall. Our guide told us when the synagogue was built prayer books were at a premium. Therefore, the most important prayers were written in large letters on the wall for people to...More

The synagogue is small and unremarkable but the klezmer music concert was terrific. The small combo put a modern twist on klezmer music. There were only a handful of people there when I visited which is too bad because these guys are really good.

While most of the treasures of this synagogue are no longer here, this place is the house with a great spirit of being courageous and giving. You strive to go high when it is not possible for others. You lead when everybody is lost.

On Fri evening the place was over crowded, on Shabbat morning, almost empty. Acoustics are terrible, painfully noisy. Place dominated by Chabad, take it or leave it. On the walls you can see remainders of the original deco which is interesting. Otherwise, the place is...More

I know it's a place of worship and they have to keep it looking nice but didn't particularly want to pay just to look around!

I was lucky enough to attend a Sabboth service on the 15/07/16. Although I am not Jewish, I have always been fascinated by both the culture & religion, therefore this was a chance not to be missed. I felt honoured that I was offered the...More
