This is an orthodox Jewish synagogue in the Kazimiera district of Krakow. It ranks with the most ancient places of worship in Europe. It contains a museum of Jewish history and traditions.

We did not get to venture inside, but we did learn a bit about the history of the synagogue itself, while on a Jewish Walking tour of Krakow. Would love to return and see the interior.

I went to the museum exactly at 4.28 and was briefly allowed in before an unpleasant mustachioed bespectacled man told me "we are closed" and pointed me right back out the door. Even though they say they're open until 5pm the sign outside says "last...More

For a small price (even slightly cheaper than the other synagogues) you can visit the interesting interior which resembles the medieval Old New Synagogue in Prague. The museum contains lots of interesting artefacts of Jewish religious life and even a few things they found at...More

There's an austere beauty, and a sort of elusive, melancholy quality to this venerable museum that now houses a small museum of Jewish faith and life in Krakow. I visited to attend a short but very enjoyable concert of classical favourites and film score highlights,...More

It was good to see the local people of Krakow and elsewhere in the world starting to contribute to this small museum at the side of the Old Synagogue. Some interesting exhibits - we found the personal stories particularly engaging. We were only there for...More

Such an informative and well laid out exhibition. Many old pictures and artifacts too all labelled and explained as to their use. We spend several hours here and small entrance fee was well worth it.
