It's hard to think that Poland has only been a republic for no more than a century. Silesia has been picked at and pulled apart by the Germans, Austrians and Hapsburgs. The monument is reminder.

Aside from the impressive art work I would give credit to, I didn't see any explanation board or any signs. There are years on each of them that says 1919, 1920 & 1921 but I have no idea what they meant. Nevertheless while you are...More

beautiful monument, but all but know that it was minority and Silesia was German ...it was not until after World War II that Poland appropriated Silesia ...is it true ?

The monument is nothing special, but the history of Silesian Uprisings is interesting, so it is just for beginning - to read some history of Silesia region.
