With a little bit of planning and asking for hints from the locals, it's almost guaranteed tat anyone is able to spot real wild bisons in their natural environment. We spotted them early in the morning of our last day in the town, and the five beasts were really easy to find in the grassfield north of Bialowieza village. Also... More

We went with friends for a 3 hour (8 km) guided walk though the forest. We saw bison and many other wildlife. The guide spoke English and Polish and at times we were the only group in the forest. It was so peaceful and an almost spiritual experience.

This is a remarkable place. For what it means, for the landscape, for the bisons... Whether you are a nature lover or not, this should be a place on your bucket list!

We had the privilege of being guided through the restricted area of this beautiful forest, but not before we managed to get up close and personal with two male bison. Our guide was excellent and knew just where to take us. It was 9.15am and a cloudy but clear day. The bison were feeding in a field of green grass... More

Unfortunately, due to fungi and insects, many trees are dead or dying, but the forest is great and offers many images, animals, and stories. Controversy on tree logging and the fact that not all the area is protected makes a visit to Bialowieza a very interesting one.

Precious primeval forest. The variety of fungi was marvellous. Guide was really good with explanations and answering questions. Amazing place to visit. Treasure all ancient woods and the wildlife

Our host at our accommodation was kind enough to arrange an English speaking guide for us so that we could enjoy the restricted part of the forest. Usually, the groups are no larger than 6 people but ours had 7 which was fine as it meant we only had to pay 33 zly (£6.80) each for a 3 hour tour.... More

We did not visit the high-preserved places, we only took paths in the freely-accessible areas. But still - in our 18 km walk we discovered the many layers that this magnificent forest has. You should definitely visit this place, if you want to know how real forest looks like. But I was happy to realize, that we have similar places... More

It was a nice 3 h walk. We had the chance to see, according the guide the oldest original florets in Europe. Huge diversity of fungi. The guide was very nice and the English not bad but she has this task as an hobby -so no well prepared for a scientific visit.
