Is what our city tour guide told us about this street. The details down to the Cobblestone takes one to another era while walking.

I love Amber Jewellery so had planned to visit here and what I found was a cute street of jewellery shops/stalls and cafes, located in historical buildings and whether you are interested in purchasing jewellery or not it is certainly worth a quick stroll through.

Mariacka (pronounced mar-ree-at-ska) is one of the lovliest streets in Europe. Best approached from the river through the Gothic gate - it opens up a wonderland view. At the very end, Mariacka cathedral, the largest brick church in Europe, towers like an elevated Gothic city,...More

Make sure you walk down this street. When the shops are open to visit them and stop in a few of the Coffee houses and at dusk for great scenery! Incredible!

Had a walk down Mariaka street at the close of the day. The architecture of the different buildings is quite different. There are lots of little eating places up stairs, whilst down stairs are numerous amber jewellery galleries. There was absolutely no pushing for people...More

Although this is an almost total post war renovation it has been very well done and recreates a medieval atmosphere. A must to visit if you want amber
