I think we were quite unfortunate when visiting Old Town in Gdansk last week. The place looked a bit like a huge construction site. I know they need to prepare everything for tourist season and that they have to look after their buildings. At least...More

So much happened here, but you could walk right by it if you hadn't done your research first or engaged a really good guide! Dluga St is lined with gorgeous town homes, carefully rebuilt or restored after WWII. The rich flaunted their wealth by ornamenting...More

A really beautiful place to walk around and admire the intricately designed buildings that tower over you. To think it was totally destroyed and rebuilt is amazing.

Such a charming and beautiful old town. All the buildings were restored and look just stunning! Loads of nice cafes and gift shops around.

This is the second time we've visited Gdańsk and we love it. We have stayed in the old town both times, and it's a great base location. The main street is picturesque and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars for everyone.

Charming old town of Gdansk. Was easy to find even for first timer, good street signs told where to go. Even on a cold, grey, winter day it was a beautiful place. There’s plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and souvenier shops.

Old Town was very beautiful and the architecture was gorgeous, but there wasn't much anything to do there. The restaurants were very full (New Year's eve and a few days after) and there were few shops or galleries. Definitely worth visiting, but quickly seen.

My friend and I couldn’t believe how beautiful the buildings in the main street were. We noticed something new every time we walked the length of this street. At our time of visiting the Christmas decorations were still up which added to the beauty of...More

Mixed feelings, not so full of locals or tourists as expected, a lot of restaurants having people trying to convince “hassling” you to enter, what can be annoying . Nice buildings and architecture.

If you're coming into Gdynia then no. If it's midweek the cabs are very reasonable.
