The old town is always alive with people wandering around. There are dozens of sidewalk cafes and souvenir shops. It's a must to see and soak up the atmosphere. There are lots of cobblestone streets and the old buildings are spectacular.

It's a very nice city: beautiful architecture, friendly people, and exciting entertainment. I really liked it. Prices for food and services are not high. I highly recommend the fish restaurant and massage on Rybny Targ Street

The Gdansk Old Town is very nice. It has museums, a street market, lots of shops, pubs, bars, and restaurants. We went in December, so there was a Christmas market, and it was actually very nice to see. There were lots of Christmas-themed shops, and they even had a stage for some presentations along with plenty of Christmas decorations and lights.

We visited Gdansk on a cruise and so were only here for 8 hours but what an incredibly beautiful city with so many superb bars and restaurants. The city has a fascinating history too, particularly the Hanseatic League days, check it out. Will definitely return for a long city break.

Beautiful city....not cheap and everything is in Zloty currency. I would recommend bringing Zloty with you or having a Revolut card. We were surprised at how expensive coffee shops and drinks were. Meals out are reasonably priced! Amazing cafes, bars and restaurants. Beautiful people who are so kind and polite to tourists. Fantastic museum's with anazing public transport. We got snow in the New Year for all our stay...stunning!!! We felt very safe there with our family.

Beautiful historic center of the old city, rebuilt after the Second World War destroyed by the Nazis at the end of the war. . . very cool to walk and look for a small terrace to eat some pierogi and drink some beers . . . Had thought of skipping Gdansk as it's so far north but thank goodness found a group tour that takes us to this absolutely beautiful city with its tall narrow houses more like those in the Netherlands . Being restored or completely rebuilt doesn't take away its charm as it's so representative of its Hanseatic League legacy. The rich German heritage makes it quite unlike Wroclaw or Krakow. The lovely fish restaurants deliver the freshest cod at reasonable prices, the river location reminds us Singaporeans of our own Clarke Quay with its fancy restaurants and bumboats. Very touristy but so accessible and the shops selling amber may be pricey but at least they provide certificates of authenticity and have an amazing variety of designs.

It’s hard to walk in a straight line while you’re in the Old Town as there is so much beautiful architecture and you are always looking up. Full of restaurants bars and souvenir shops and a really nice atmosphere. It was less busy during the week when we visited in mid April.

Lovely walk through the old (or after war renewed) streets, lots to see & buy. You can spend as little as half an hour walking just the Dluga Street, but recommend to stay, get a coffee or drink or domě lovely meal, sit or walk And just enjoy the city spirit. Definitely go to the riverside - great Amsterdam -like vibe (currently one part under construction, but worth seeing anyway).

Gdansk old town buildings are reconstructed but still exude so much charm. The food, the walk across old town, the lovely architecture and lovely charm and music all around. This is the place to be. We stayed on the Amber Mariacka street and loved it
