Gdansk is a city that has some great museums ,I personally much prefer the building these museums are housed in and this splendid museum is no exception. I've no doubt that the exhibitions are superb but I much preferred the views afforded from the observation...More

We were almost alone on a Friday afternoon for two hours. The Nubian exhibition was a pleasant surprise, with an ancient skeleton, weapons and textiles for display among other things. I found it amazing how rich the regional stone age archaeology is and the amber...More

We mainly visited for the observation tower, which does give a reasonable view over the city. The museum itself was laid out somewhat confusingly, and there didn't seem to be any real pattern. My main memory is of the collections of bones showing various injuries...More

Former House of Naturalists, an archaeological exhibition in the region. The largest attraction is the tower overlooking the river and the Lower Town. The building's architecture interesting. External exhibition of sculptures.

If you're trying to visit this museum and cannot find the entrance - take it as a sign. It's not worth the hassle. The entrance is hidden between stalls on the Mariacka street - facing towards Motława river - right hand side corner up on...More

You first walk into a collection on Sudan. I have no idea why as there was no information in English on this. Hopefully someone else managed to find this!! Upstairs there were some average artefacts relating to Mesolithic humans and climate change. However, I couldn't...More

Yes it's possible to go up the tower. I don't remember how much it costs.
