Firstly Gdansk for me is a new and unknow city - what a relevation - it is beautiful, clean, fun and a must for your city break list. The Solidarity Centre is totally amazing, the building, the story and the overall experience - it is reason enough to go to Gdansk!!

Plan at least 3 hours for the ESC. The architecture inside is breath-taking, the exhibition is very touching.

I have wanted to visit Gdansk and specially the ship Yard since a was 20. Growing up in London in the 1980's I was gripped by the images of the young women and men of Gdansk and their personal struggle for self determination from the suffocation and viscous control of Moscow. The Centre present the story of this pivotal moment... More

Modern building. Takes you back to the solidarity times when the freedom began. Extraordinary exhibition presenting the decor of that period.

I highly recommend the Solidarnosc Centre! The exhibition is amazing lots of interactivity is possible, multimedia, things to touch and a great audio guide. Even if you are not into history a must see. And: no heroic politically influenced undertone.

This is a very interesting centre with lots of hands on interactive things to do. It was well worth the money. Not expensive at all. It also has a nice coffee shop.

So many facts and information easily accessed by the personal guide system. Loved the fact that you didn't have to carry yr bags and coat around as lockers at entrance. Great entrance price and a MUST SEE if you visit Gdansk

We chose to visit Gdansk partly because of the role of the shipyard workers in creating political change in Poland and the wider Eastern Bloc, and a visit to the European Solidarity Centre was at the top of our to do list. It is a 1.5 mile / 2.4 km walk from the centre of the Old Town (allow 30... More

Spent a few hours finding out about the fascinating history of the solidarity movement- museum is well laid out and really takes you through the turbulent period in Poland's recent history. A must see if you're visiting Gdansk
