Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The palace itself is very beautiful and it is worth a day trip to visit and see the stunning building, decor and grounds. The wine shop and gift shop are also worth a visit. HOWEVER, DO NOT stay in the Anton Florian Hotel, which is part of the wing of the palace - it is without doubt the worst accommodation I have every stayed in anywhere in the entire world. No facilities, not even a kettle, the rooms were basic, old, dated and unpleasant. The beds were pointless as they were so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor and the carpets were so coarse the would take the skin off of the soles of your feet. I need a holiday to recover.

If you want to visit a chateau/castle visit Lednice.
If you want extensive beautiful gardens, visit Lednice.
If you want to taste some of the best local wines, come here.

The National Salon of Czech Republic wines is in the cellars. They have selected the best 100 wines submitted to them over the past year.

Entry is free, but tastings a not. There are a number of options:
Open tasting.....minimum of 355 CZK
Tasting by the glass......100 to 250 CZK
Guided tasting......150 to 260 CZK

Open Tuesday to Saturday, and Sunday from June to September. Closed in February.

If you enjoy this, also consider visiting Narody Salon Vin Slovenskj Republiky. They have a similar offering of Slovakian wine. It is in the basement of Pezinok castle.

Came over to do the wine tasting but they did not speak English. So we were unable to do it. We were very disappointed because it really looked like a cool place.

It is located very close to Lednice castle, so you can visit both places within one day. The castle is monumental, well decorated and equipped inside but the garden needs improvement.

We stayed outside of castle. Firstly, surrounding park and garden look so tempting. Second, we felt we need some longer stroll after couple days of extensive wine tasting :-)
Castle itself is quite run down. On the other hand is not so crowded like Lednice. If you are in Valtice its worth to dedicate about 2 hours for a nice stroll.

An impressive early Ba-rogue architectural building which is the most important in the Valtice area.
