A great castle placed in a small beautiful village.
We bought tickets for the inside tour upfront on internet and we really enjoyed it. The visit took 45 minutes and was very interesting.
The French and English gardens are really worth the walk.
If you have time you should visit the minaret tower and go for the small boat ride. You can definitely enjoy a great day with the family here.

Place worth visiting. Beautiful halls, full of historic artefacts, lovely gardens and nice walk around the lake make it great choice for visiting. Only price could be a bit lower. Everything is paid, from parking to view tower (minaret). And very difficult to find a good place to eat around.

I really enjoyed the chateau and its surroundings — they are definitely reminding of British palaces and villas like Strawberry Hill, even have a little bit of Downton Abbey vibe. Must see for 19th century history, Neo-Gothic style and romanticism era fans living in or visiting the South Moravian Region.
However, I was outraged by the noises. Not only these made by crowds of tourists but also machines like tractors or huge mowers in the historic gardens. I'm wondering who thought that it was a good idea to do such workings at noon time in the middle of high season! I know, the staff members have to do such things to preserve the good condition of the monument, but why they are choosing time like that? I went there to relax close to history and nature. I got terrible, constant noises and views destroyed by machines. Highly disappointed.

Pretty castle and grounds. Inside was very pretty. I believe we did the apartment tour. Crazy busy as they were only open on weekends starting in October. Women selling tour tickets should know basic English as this is a big tourist spot.

Here we found so much nature and history connected: plus, the city itself is cozy and clean.
The park is worth visiting, particularly, regarding the spectrum of plants.

I'm telling you this as a Czech citizen having brought foreign visitors to "one of the most visited castle in the Czech republic" - as this was the intro of our tour guide in the castle. You can get an idea how amazing this place looks like from numerous photos or videos of the Czech Republic. What I want to point out is the service they're providing to visitors. First of all, most of the staff at counters or souvenir shops speak very little English. Secondly, they're really annoyed when you asked them something what is not related to the spot they're operating at. I asked about boat cruises. An older guy at the ticket counter sent me to read a board outside because this service is operated by external company and they don't have anything to do with it. Well I went there, didn't find all the information and returned back to him asking more info. He told me something but wasn't sure if it was correct information. Ok, what a stupid charade - you're all here to provide service to visitors, I believe I wasn't the first one who had the same question so stop transferring visitors from one place to another. The staff should be able to provide you some help and not send you to read a board in a corner with a look "don't bother me again, ever!". Thirdly, the boat cruise is ridiculously expensive. I should explain: it's not a boat cruise. It's a boat ride from castle to minaret (or Janohrad) where for 25min you're going to pay 140 czk one-way, and on top of that it takes not across the lake in order to see views at castle, but by side river shoulder. If you want to see the lake- walk. Boat ride is a rip-off! Last struggle to communicate I experienced in one of local cafes - many Russian or German or English-speaking visitors trying to order a cake and coffee. This is not how one of the most visited places in the Czech republic and Unesco world heritage listing should be presenting itself.

Be prepared that nobody speaks English and the staff is not helpfull or friendly.
It is a shame that they do not have tours in foreign languages. You cannot visit on your own, you have to join a group! And the groups run in Czech language. Welcome! ;-)
We participated in a group - one third of the people were foreigners - and the guide said only once sentence in English "do not sit on the furniture". Fantastic! Nobody cared about us.
They gave you some some brochures (sticky pages in a shabby folder) in German/English and you can read, that is all. Come on people, this the 21st century!!!
The castle looks really nice but to be honest the owner (Czech Republic, I guess) does not deserve to run such a nice place with Czechoslovakian communist tourims style. They do not know anything about tourism, professionalism completely lacks.

This chateau most likely is one of the three "must visit" places in Moravia and of ten in the whole Czech Republic - it has been restored very recently, the exhibits are extremely nice (one particular wooden staircase would by itself worth the travel), and the nearby park is great too. Yet the shock comes with the poor service provided at the chateau - they close most exhibits at lunchtime (12-1pm) for lunchbreak of the staff, and we witnessed also a teller shouting at the visitors who demanded their tickets that they (claimed to have) prebooked over the phone. Regardless of who was right, the treatment of visitors (behaving very reasonably) was just shocking.

Lednice Chateau offers one the glimpse of the Lichtenstein nobility and is the jewel in the crown of the Lednice - Valtice complex. It was apparently used for meetings of the European aristocracy. We stopped here as part of our tour driving from Budapest to Prague and didn't have much time at our hands. We wished to tour the first floor, but were thwarted by the lack of English at the ticket counter. We therefore, saw it from outside. We also saw the wonderful gardens, which are meticulously maintained and the large lake adjoining it.

Beautiful castle from outside, the garden is huge, flowers everywhere, you can walk as many as you want. The castle offers 3 tours - all of them shows different rooms.
Photography is allowed but without flash, the tours are every hour.
If you are with car, you need to have Czech coins for parking machine but don't worry, there is closely hotel to exchange money.

Per motivi logistici vorremmo visitare il castello o il giorno dell'arrivo o quello della partenza,quindi portandoci dietro i bagagli sotto forma di zaino (uno zaino di circa 40x20 centimetri e uno di circa 50x40 centimetri),vorrei sapere se è possibile entrare nel castello con questi zaini e se c'è un guardaroba o armadietti dove lasciarli.
For logistical reasons we would like to visit the castle the day of arrival or departure, with our luggage in the form of a backpack (a backpack of about 40x20 cm and one of about 50x40 cm), I would like to know if it is possible to enter in the castle with these backpacks and if there is a wardrobe or lockers where to leave them.

L'interno del castello è diviso in due tour,primo e secondo piano,ogni tour/piano costa il corrispettivo di circa 7,50€ a testa, quindi tutto sui 15€ a testa,si entra solo con guida soprattutto in lingua ceca,puoi acquistare i biglietti online per essere certo di entrare all'orario desiderato oppure sul posto se rientri nel numero massimo di visitatori per ogni orario.

The park and gardens are open well before the Zamek. Beware that on Mondays all Zameks are closed.

My husband and I are going to the Czech Republic in August, and I would like to see Castle Lednice. We will be going on a Tuesday. I have read from the reviews that everything is closed from 12-1pm. Is it easy to find a cafe during this time that is close by? Otherwise, when are tours and the bird show available? Also, how much do the different attractions cost?

During the sommer holyday July and August, we are open from 9 am till 5pm, without lunch break. In the Lednice village is many options for a cafe.More info are on our webside. The bird swow starts at 12 am and 2 pm in the park.
