I was in Brno during the Christmas Market and the Astronomical clock is somewhat swallowed up by the Market and dwarfed by the best Christmas Tree I have ever seen in my life. Worth checking out.

Brno's example of their astronomical clock which underwent some criticism when it was first unveiled, given it's shape. It reaches six metres high and has some peculiar characteristics, including shooting marbles from slots in its side. People walk past and stare with perplexity and -...More

Brno astronomical clock is in the old city square and it's interesting object. Each day at one time there fall out marble balls.

Hard to believe they would spend 4 Million Euros on a clock that you can’t read Well worth being there before 11am to try to beat locals and catch the Glass Ball that is released each day

If you've never seen a clock that does not show time, you have a chance: the monument named "Brno C(l)ock" on the central square (náměstí Svobody) remembers minority of the famous London Cucumber. Usual meeting place.

It's absolutely boring. When you stay in front of it, watch it and try to understand what is the astronomical thing in it, you get bored really fast, so not worth visiting.

This is a modern version of astronomical clock. Unfortunately even my brother, an engineer who lives in Brno, could not figure out how the clock works and what time it was.

Absolutely nothing to do with astronomy but all about the city's siege by the Swedes. It was fun trying to work out how it worked over the days I was there. You get a sort of chime from it every 15 minutes that sounds like...More
