There's two district's of Prague I love to visit on any holiday I take to this fascinating city ,one is Karlin and the other is Zizkov and a great way to visit both districts is to walk through the Pedestrian Tunnel Karlin- Zhizhkov ( Zizkov- Karlin Tunnel ) that runs under Vitkov Hill.
Constructed in the 1950's during Communist times, the tunnel is 303 metres long and is very cool ,if you're in either the Zizkov district or Karlin district its a tunnel to most definitely check out.

Two of my favourite district's in Prague are Karlin District and Zizkov District and linking these two eclectic districts is this wonderful tunnel.
Going directly through the hill that separates these district's ,its a cool tunnel to walk through especially at night when the tunnel is illuminated, its a cool little tourist attraction, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in either of these district's.

The area on the side of the castle, known as "Deer Moat", very beautiful and with wild vegetation, was not intended for tourists. At the initiative of former President Václav Havel, the castle area was reorganized and the entire "Deer Moat" became accessible to the public. Designed as a landscape architecture, the trail runs over stone slabs, small steel bridges and wooden walkways through the natural surroundings of the"Deer Moat", north of the castle. For part of its length, the route is in the form of a pedestrian tunnel, which runs through the hill and below the Powder Bridge. If you have more time, do not miss this route. Enjoy it!

Pedestrian Tunnel Karlin - Zhizhkov is an absolutely fantastic pedestrianised tunnel that links two of my favourite districts of Prague namely Zizkov and Karlin, these are not the pretty tourists areas such as the Old Town or New Town but good honest working class areas, teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants, the nightlife scene in these area's is awesome and the tunnel that brings you through the hills from Zizkov to Karlin and vice versa is just so cool,an excellent piece of engineering, over 300 metres long it really impressed me when I first saw the tunnel and it still does now.
If your in the Karlin district or the Zizkov district well worth checking out.

I love to visit the Zizkov district of Prague,it's not the pretty tourist area of the magnificent Old or New Town of Prague but what this area offers is a great place to visit with its interesting architecture and unparalleled nightlife as the sheer amount of pubs, bars and restaurants in this area is mindboggling.
The Pedestrian Tunnel Karlin Zhizhkov cuts through the hills and brings you into Praha 8 Karlin which is another great and upcoming district of Prague that is so well worth visiting.
The tunnel is awesome and is really quite long,it's a good piece of engineering.
The tunnel is to be found by jumping tram number 5.9.11.15.26.91.95. to stop Lipanska were you walk straight down Chlumova towards the hills were you will find this tunnel flanked by two great Restaurants ,Restaurace Lipa and Planeta Zizkov both of which are well worth checking out.
A great tunnel and a fine piece of engineering and well worth a visit.
